The NOVA Identity and Origin

The NOVA World Championship stands for the Network of Outstanding Visionary Achievers. Developed collaboratively by experienced educators and language assessment professionals from Australia, Hong Kong, and Kazakhstan, NOVA is an integrated, high-quality academic assessment framework for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The Brand Philosophy

In astronomy, a "Nova" is a star that experiences a sudden, spectacular burst of energy. We adopted the name NOVA because we firmly believe that every student is like a star with boundless, untapped potential. The championship is designed to be the catalyst for this brilliance, providing a world-class platform where students can transcend their limits and shine on the global stage.

THE 4 CORE PILLARS OF NOVA

NOVA is not just a short-term contest; it is a measurable academic milestone. We deliver
value through four key components:

1. International Benchmarking

NOVA serves as a transparent and measurable benchmark of academic competence. Our assessment materials and grading rubrics are meticulously aligned with global standards, including the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), IELTS, Cambridge English, and PTE Academic, ensuring a true reflection of a student's capabilities on an international scale.

2. Official Performance Report

Beyond a simple score, every participant receives a highly detailed, individualized Performance Report. This report outlines numerical results, certified proficiency levels, and most importantly, structured developmental guidance to support the student's continued academic progression.

3. The NOVA Award (Highest Honour)

The NOVA Award represents the pinnacle of academic excellence. It is exclusively reserved for candidates who demonstrate truly exceptional mastery (achieving a minimum score of 95 and ranking within the top 3% of their category). Winners receive a specially designated Certificate of Honour and a commemorative NOVA Trophy.

4. World Grand Final

NOVA offers a structured advancement pathway. Participants who achieve Level 3 (Proficiency), Level 4 (Advanced), or Level 5 (Distinction) earn the exclusive eligibility to compete in the World Grand Final in Kazakhstan —an elite, on-site advanced academic assessment gathering top scholars globally.

CHAMPIONSHIP DISCIPLINES

The championship evaluates students across three major academic domains:

NOVA English Championship (NEC) - The Red Dragon

The Red Dragon represents language power and intellectual confidence. The
English championship is divided into four distinct modules, all aligned with CEFR
standards:

  • Reading & Comprehension: 40 minutes. Consists of 4 independent passages and 24 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Evaluates reading, reasoning, logic, and comprehension.
  • Spelling & Vocabularies: 40 minutes. Consists of 25 MCQs. Focuses on spelling accuracy, word-picture association, contextual sentence completion, and error detection.
  • Writing & Composition: 40 minutes. Consists of 2 writing tasks with no word limit. Evaluated via a double-marking system based on content, organization, vocabulary, and language use.
  • Use of English & Grammar: 40 minutes. Consists of 30 MCQs. Focuses on grammatical competence, analytical skills, and error recognition under time pressure (mimicking exams like HKDSE, PTE, and Cambridge).

NOVA Mathematics Championship (NMC) - The Purple Dragon

The Purple Dragon represents logical power, strategic thinking, and fearless
problem-solving.

  • Format: 40 minutes, 20 MCQs.
  • Scoring: +1 point for a correct answer, 0 points for incorrect or unanswered questions (no negative marking).
  • Rules: Calculators are strictly prohibited in all categories.
  • Syllabus: Covers Numbers & Algebra, Geometry & Measurement, Logical Thinking, and Integrated Problem Solving. It blends core curriculum knowledge with Mathematical Olympiad-style logical reasoning.

The Green Dragon represents disciplined curiosity, evidence-based reasoning, and
responsible innovation.

  • Format: 40 minutes, 20 MCQs.
  • Scoring: +1 point for a correct answer, 0 points for incorrect or unanswered questions.
  • Syllabus: Covers Physics, Biology, Astronomy, Integrated Science, and introduces frontier themes like Genetic Engineering (e.g., CRISPR concepts) and Bioengineering. Focuses on observation, conceptual understanding, and higher-order innovative thinking.

● Target Audience: Kindergarten (K2-K3), Primary (Grade 1-6), and Secondary (Grade 7-12).

● Format: 35 – 40-Minute online independent assessment. Strictly time-limited to train focus and stress management.

NOVA World Champion Official Performance Report

Overview
The NOVA Official Performance Report is a secure, internationally endorsed
certification issued by the Bright Future Academic Board. It provides a granular,
multi-dimensional analysis of a candidate’s skill level. Designed for inclusion in
formal academic portfolios, the document utilizes strict authentication protocols to
prevent forgery and unauthorized duplication.

A. Security & Anti-Counterfeiting Protocols

To maintain the prestige of the NOVA World Championship, the report integrates several layers of verification:

● Signatory Endorsement: Physically authorized by the President of the ISANA ACTIVE NSW Branch Executive Committee (Sydney, Australia).
● Official Stamping: Includes the official, high-resolution NOVA World Championship circular seal (specifying the subject, e.g., Mathematics).
● Partner Authentication: Features the official insignia of the Bright Future Academic Board, ED WORLD Education Center, and Miss Man International Group.
● Anti-Copy Background: Printed with a complex, proprietary watermark and graphic background that degrades in quality if scanned or counterfeited.

B. Multi-Dimensional Scoring System

The report eliminates grading ambiguity by providing four specific metrics for every candidate:

● Raw Score: The exact numerical points achieved during the assessment.
● Percentage: The overall accuracy and completion rate.
● Level Awarded: The candidate's placement on the official 1–5 scale.
● Award Title: The formal designation (e.g., Distinction, Advanced, Proficiency).

C. The 5-Tier Performance Statement Rubric

Evaluated under the Skill-based Level Certification Framework (2026 Edition), the report provides targeted, actionable feedback:

● Level 5 - Distinction Award: Demonstrates outstanding command, accuracy, depth of understanding, and confident application. Represents an excellent level of achievement.
● Level 4 - Advanced Award: Shows strong understanding and effective use of the assessed skill. Performance is clear and well-developed with minor areas for refinement.
● Level 3 - Proficiency Award: Achieves a competent and reliable level of performance. Continued practice will further strengthen precision and confidence.
● Level 2 - Developing Award: Demonstrates developing ability. Further structured practice is recommended to build consistency and accuracy.
● Level 1 - Foundation Award: At the foundation stage of skill development. Focused support and guided practice are recommended to strengthen core competencies.
