Foreword
The NOVA STEAM Project Showcase is established as an integrated, project-based framework designed to evaluate creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. Whether participants are building robots, creating tech-art, conducting science experiments, or drawing their futuristic imaginations, this showcase celebrates the Maker spirit.
Unlike traditional exams, NOVA STEAM adopts a submission-based approach that evaluates demonstrated mastery across Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. In addition to formal certification, each participant receives a structured performance report to support continued academic and creative development. NOVA therefore serves not only as a showcase, but as a transparent and measurable benchmark of innovative competence.

Vision & Philosophy
My project is for the NOVA STEAM Project Showcase: Innovating the Impossible. This showcase encourages students to use Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics to create something original, useful, and imaginative. Unlike a traditional exam, this project allows me to demonstrate my creativity, problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and presentation ability through a hands-on submission.
The theme of NOVA STEAM is connected to the Golden STEAM Dragon, which represents innovation, creativity, and fearless problem-solving. Inspired by this idea, my project focuses on turning imagination into impact. Through this project, I will show how an idea can be planned, created, tested, and improved using STEAM knowledge.
The goal of my project is to design and present a creative solution that combines learning with practical application. By completing this project, I hope to develop my confidence, improve my independent thinking, and demonstrate how STEAM can be used to solve problems and create new possibilities.
NOVA is founded upon guiding principles:
★ Fostering Excellence: Setting international benchmarks to encourage participants to surpass their limits and achieve the highest levels of reading proficiency.
★ Sharpening the Mind: Systematically training participants’ focus, logical reasoning, quick decision-making, and stress management through time-limited challenges.
★ Broadening Horizons: Featuring passages covering science, humanities, arts, and social issues to guide participants in building interdisciplinary knowledge and developing a global perspective.
★ Bridging to the Future: Simulating the advanced reading requirements of top international universities and professional fields, allowing participants to lay a solid foundation for future academic and career development.

0:00–0:15 Title and introduction
0:15–0:40 Explain the problem/purpose
0:40–1:20 Show how you made the project
1:20–2:20 Demonstrate the project
2:20–3:00 Results and reflection
★ Report: A PDF report (max 3 pages) with photos and descriptions.
● Create a polished educational illustration showing a completed student project with a checklist, lightbulb icon, and positive learning atmosphere, modern
school report style.
★ Artwork: High-quality photos or scanned copies of a drawing/painting, along with a short description (50-100 words) of the idea.
What Your Artwork Can Show
Your artwork can be about any STEAM idea, such as:
● A future city
● A dream robot
● An eco-friendly invention
● A science experiment
● Space technology
● Smart transportation
● Clean energy
● AI and humans working together
● A dragon-inspired STEAM invention

Marking Criteria
Description: The assessment is based on a 100-point scale:
★ Creativity & Originality – 40%
★ Execution & STEAM Value – 30%
★ Presentation – 30%
Skills Assessed
Description: Innovation, Logical Reasoning, Artistic Expression, Problem Solving, and Presentation.
Suggested Categories & Exploration Areas
(Students can choose one of the following areas, or create something entirely new!)
★ Robotics & Tech :
Design, build, or program a robot, a mechanical gadget, or a smart device.
★ Art, Design & Drawing:
Express your creativity! You can create kinetic art, 3D printed designs, or freely draw and paint your STEAM ideas (e.g., future cities, dream robots) using any coloring pens, crayons, or paints.
★ Science & Eco-Innovation:
Conduct a fascinating science experiment or design a solution for an environmental problem.
★ Open Category:
Got a wild idea? Any project that involves Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Mathematics is welcome!
Individual students or students group a team (Maximum 5 members in one team) from Grade 1-12 to participate in NOVA STEAM.

NOVA Award
The NOVA Award represents the highest honour of the competition and is reserved for candidates who demonstrate truly exceptional mastery, advanced proficiency, and distinguished academic excellence.
To be eligible, candidates must meet all of the following criteria:
★ Achieve a minimum overall score of 95 marks or above;
★ Rank within the top 3% of candidates in their respective category;
★ Demonstrate outstanding performance as confirmed by the judging panel;
★ The number of awardees shall be limited to a maximum of three recipients per category, at the discretion of the panel.
The decision of the judging panel is final. Recipients of the NOVA Award will receive:
★ A specially designated NOVA Certificate of Honour;
★ A commemorative NOVA Trophy;
★ Formal recognition at the Award Ceremony.
The NOVA Award is a distinction of honour and academic excellence.

Why NOVA is Different?
Unlike conventional English competitions that emphasize ranking systems or isolated
comprehension testing, NOVA adopts a structured academic certification model.
